Dr. Spine nominated for Best Feature and Best Horror Comedy

DR. SPINE is nominated for Best Feature and Best Horror Comedy and a Special Recognition Award at the Chicago Horror Film Fest!  If you haven't had a chance to see Dr. Spine yet, it will be showing at this Saturday, Sept. 29th at 8pm at Portage Park Theater, located at 4050 Milwaukee in Chicago http://chicagohorrorfest.com/schedule/  Get there at 7:45 for the special intro by Kris Desautels (nominated for Best Supporting Actor for in his role in Dr. Spine)!!  ***Dr. Spine won a Special Recognition Award, Best Supporting Actor and Actress!!

SPADES is also up for some awards at the Chicago Horror Fest~  Best Actor Juan Riedinger, Best Supporting Actor Tom Lodewyck and Best Supporting Actress Deneen Meloday and other awards, as well!  Spades will screen this Sunday at 4:30, so if you haven't seen it yet, come check it out! ***Spades won Best Cinematography!!

CHARITY, which I starred in, directed by Joe Caballero of Chicago, will be screening tonight, Friday, Sept. 28th at the Chicago Latino Film Festival at 7pm. The address is 2950 W. 25th street, Chicago, Illinois 60623.   

The DEPRESSION OF DETECTIVE DOWNS 2 will be screening:
this Sunday, Sept. 30th at Angela's Pantry (6132 Miller Avenue, Miller Beach, IN 46403) between 3pm to 7pm to eat and watch "The Depression of Detective Downs 2: On Depression's Edge"!  The extraordinary band The Jalopies will be playing music for the event as well! Angela's Pantry is a beautiful restaurant with a nice & cozy, relaxing atmosphere with great hospitality and food.

With incredibly talented actor Jeremy Piven, currently filming his British series in London, Mr. Selfridge. He is the star (Harry Gordon Selfridge) of this historical drama series set in 1909. The series will start this fall. He said that he's as excited about playing this role as he was playing Ari in HBO's Entourage.  He says this character inspires in a different way than Ari Gold did.  Can't wait to watch! You probably also know him from Spy Kids 4, Spiderman 1 and 2, RocknRolla, or one of the many other great projects he has been a part of!

Shooting continues this week!  I have been working with wonderful crew and cast... Tony Wash is the Writer/Director.  Rob Stern is the DP. My character is Rebecca, a woman who is estranged from her mother, but needs her help...  Shooting continues this week.  Leigh Rose (pictured above with Tim, AD) plays my mother. She is from New York and has appeared on tv shows ER, Monk, Cold Case, as well as in films and commercials.  Lia Sullivan plays my daughter.  Jason does an amazing job with special effects. Detective Downs 2 with Shenita Moore, Jose Rosete to be ON DEMAND

3/9/12 - Update -

I am the voice of Sheila Mercer, Detective Down's partner. Anthony Thurman is writer/director/animator and voice on Detective Downs! Detective Downs 2 was just chosen to be part of the Video On Demand program for Shaw Cable--the cable company in Calgary, Canada. and will run for a whole year, starting from March 30th 2012 until April 1st 2013! Shenita Moore (has appeared on Gray's Anatomy), Jose Rosete (has appeared on The Mentalist, Ghouls), are other voices in the film, as well!

This film has been in film festivals in Glasgow, England (won an award), New Zealand and Canada, as well as in the United States, and is an Official Selection for a festival in Spain in October, as well!

Premiere was a success!

Kudos to filmmaker John Wesley Norton for the premier of his two films, "Spades" and "Dr. Spine" which I thoroughly enjoyed. Two great films, very different from each other yet both carrying the same grip that grabs you by the throat. The acting performed in Spades was exceptional, just full of fire and wit. The writing was intelligent with twisted sick dangerous turns around every corner; I loved the ending. I could see where John's inspiration came from in making "Spades" Watch this film and I promise, it'll wind up along side your other all time favorites. The ending....Wow. Dr. Spine...Awesome! If you want to go on a crazy roller coaster ride, here you go! This is a bloody, wacky, cool and sexy film with a lot of Chicago actors. Another keeper. The turnout was huge, several celebrities attending.. (Joe Caballero - actor/filmmaker/audience member review)  

Juan Riedinger is a very talented actor from Canada!  He has been in many tv shows and films.  He recently won a Leo for his film work!  Keep an eye out for this guy!

Shooting film SPADES this week with a past "Seinfeld" cast member

Shooting SPADES with Boomstick Films, John Wesley Norton writer and director, Producer Jack Cohen.  Larry Thomas (whom you may know as the "Soup Nazi" from the tv show Seinfeld, Austin Powers, etc) is my on-screen husband in this intense, very well written dramatic film.  In addition to Larry, other great actors and crew, as well: Alex Scuby, Juan Reidinger, Xango Henry, Tom Jackson, Tom Lodewyck, Heather Dorff and Deneen Melody. Had fun today being on Talkzone.com, "2 Guys and a Mic" show with AMWD producer Idris Akinbiyi, Joel Radwanski (dj and my AMWD co-host) and Jon Cohn "The Coach", (you may know him from when he used to dj on The Score radio show). Joel (aka Bigg Dogg)and The Coach are a blast!! Every morning 10-11am, they talk live about everything - they are a wealth of amazing and useful information!     I come in about halfway through this broadcast...
